Memory is the guardian and treasury of all things. Frustrated by the limitations of painting, specifically portraiture, I sought to develop a collaborative project to investigate the boundaries of memory. I constructed large-scale portraits of individuals and asked them to destroy the painting as they saw fit. I documented this on video alongside audio recordings of specific memories. The final product is a video documenting the destruction of the painting. Through the destruction of the portrait, a fragmented memory was created, altering the relationship between art and object, portrait and subject.
